Silver Group acquires Toronto airport hotel from InnVest

Radisson Silver HotelSilver Hotel Group has purchased the Radisson Suite Hotel Toronto Airport from InnVest REIT (INN.UN-T) for an undisclosed price.

The 216-suite property is located at 640 Dixon Rd., close to Toronto Pearson International Airport and highly visible from local roads and highways 401 and 409, making it attractive for corporate, group and leisure guests.

Its amenities include the Fox Bistro, 24-hour fitness and business centres, complimentary airport shuttle service and 1,900 square feet of meeting space.

Mississauga, Ont.-based Silver has a portfolio that includes hotels belonging to the Starwood, Hilton, InterContinental, Carlson and Choice chains as well as a number of independent boutique properties. The company’s two dozen hotels are located in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal and several Ontario cities.

InnVest holds one of Canada’s largest hotel portfolios, comprising approximately 110 hotel properties with more than 15,000 rooms that are operated under internationally recognized franchise brands. It also owns a 50 per cent interest in Choice Hotels Canada Inc., one of the largest hotel franchisors in the country.

The deal was brokered by Colliers International Hotels.
