Canadian private markets firm Ruck Lane has announced the appointment of Andrew Garrett as chief investment officer, effective immediately.
As CIO, Garrett will lead Ruck Lane’s investment strategy, oversee portfolio growth, manage risk, and shape capital allocation decisions across its national platform of real estate portfolio companies. He will play a key role in advancing Ruck Lane’s pan-Canadian strategy, sourcing and structuring living sector investments, and growing investor relationships across pension, insurance and wealth management sectors.
“With increasing structural undersupply of housing across Canada, an opportunity-rich investment landscape for riding real estate recovery, Andrew brings a proven track record in strategic portfolio management, capital formation, and global institutional-grade execution,” Chuck Scott, Ruck Lane's chief executive officer, said in the announcement.
Garrett will work closely with Private Pension Partners in scaling the platform, and Apartment Plus (A+) REIT, its flagship investment fund, through a national expansion strategy.
He previously worked as the CIO at Spotlight Development, where he will transition to an advisory board role. He also previously served as senior principal, real estate, at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario.
