Podcast: The Industrial Real Estate Show with Chad Griffiths

Robert Thornburgh, CEO of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) Global, is the guest this week, joining host Chad Griffiths. Among the topics they discuss are: how to gain a competitive advantage in the industry; potential pitfalls to avoid; and the value of education, networking and designations.

Thornburgh, (SIOR, CCIM, CPM, FRICS) manages SIOR’s business and executes directives set by the board of directors and its governance committee. He has also served as SIOR global president and sat on the SIOR board.

A longstanding commercial real estate specialist based out of Los Angeles, Thornburgh brings more than 25 years of industry knowledge and leadership experience, with a strong focus on integrity and a transformational, service-oriented style.

He went to SIOR from Kidder Mathews, where he was a shareholder and regional president of brokerage for many years.

During much of his professional career, Thornburgh served as the CEO at Heger Industrial, a prominent real estate firm with a 60-year legacy in the Los Angeles market. Prior to Heger he worked with R3 Investment Group – a company he still owns.

He has also been consistently recognized across the commercial real estate industry for his emphasis on innovation and his passion to help others achieve their goals. In 2020, he was honoured as a “Best Boss” by ALM Media.
