A Toronto-based advertising company is making its second major inroads into the Montreal market in recent months. Pattison Outdoor Advertising is partnering with developer Devimco Immobilier to place its elevator screens in 22 of the real estate owner/operator’s residential and office buildings.
The deal will see Pattison place 68 screens in elevators in 20 of Devimco’s newest residential properties, as well as two major new office towers being constructed in the Greater Montreal Area.
In conjunction with the Devimco announcement, Pattison also said it has a partnership with Montreal’s La Presse digital news editor service to provide French-language content for the screens.
“Modern technology has paved the way for multi-functional devices that make our lives easier, faster, better and more fun,” said Marco Fontaine, Devimco’s vice-president of development, sales and marketing, in a release Tuesday.
“This dynamic digital display will allow our residents and tenants to catch up on news, traffic, local weather, and offer around-the-clock building-specific information such as package deliveries and resident notifications.”
Major expansion in Montreal
The partnerships are the latest effort by Pattison to expand its reach in Montreal, where it recently also won the contract to provide the digital screens for the city’s new Réseau express métropolitain (REM) rail transit line.
The REM is scheduled to have its first trains running in 2021.
The 67 kilometres of track will vastly expand the reach of Greater Montreal’s Métro and rail transit system. It will link the growing South Shore, North Shore, the West Island and the airport to downtown Montreal through 26 stations.
“The growth of our Digital Elevator Network provides a premium amenity and communication tool for commercial and residential properties across the province,” said Dominic Loporcaro, Pattison Outdoor’s vice-president, eastern region, in the release.
“With the arrival of the Réseau express métropolitain in 2021, Pattison truly offers advertisers access to the customer journey, with the ability to reach Montrealers at key touchpoints throughout their day.”
The partnership with Devimco will also result in Pattison digital displays being included in future development projects.
These will include the Maestria Condominiums, Montreal’s tallest residential project, and the Solar Uniquartier in Brossard, the largest mixed-use real estate project in Quebec.
