BOXX Modular continues to move into new markets with its range of modular buildings, with an Ottawa branch now being the latest to open.
“We are interested in any markets with a demand for ongoing public infrastructure and construction growth,” said Trevor Haynes, the chairman, president and chief executive officer of BOXX Modular’s parent company, Black Diamond Group.
“We have signed a long-term contract with some large general contractors in Ottawa and we will be working with other existing customers that we deal with in the Greater Toronto Area that have projects in Ottawa.”
BOXX Modular rents, leases and sells temporary and permanent modular buildings, including mobile offices, office complexes, classrooms, lavatories, medical centres, banks, blast-resistant buildings and storage containers to customers from the government, education, hydro-electric and manufacturing sectors as well as the construction industry. Construction site offices are the most popular, however, according to Haynes.
Branches in seven other Canadian markets
BOXX Modular also has Canadian branches in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Toronto/Pickering and Stoney Creek, Ont. as well as Ottawa.
“Typically, most of the modular buildings will be new construction when we greenfield into a new market,” said Haynes. “Given the proximity of our two other Ontario branches, we are able to optimize asset distribution within the province and have access to existing fleet to put into this new market.”
Haynes said BOXX Modular is one of four major suppliers in the Canadian modular building sector, and there are also smaller regional players.
“We work with our customers to design and deliver customized solutions, and provide additional services such as transportation and installation, furniture rentals and other add-ons,” said Haynes.
BOXX Modular also in U.S.
BOXX Modular also has American branches in Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas, Oklahoma City, Okla., Tallahassee, Fla. and California.
“BOXX Modular prides itself as being one of the most dependable high-quality modular suppliers in the industry,” said Haynes. “We build great partnerships with our clients and our vendors. We invest in our people and the communities that we operate out of.”
Black Diamond Group provides workforce accommodation, modular buildings, energy services and full turnkey lodging and major project solutions, including planning and management, logistics, and catering to customers in Canada, the United States and Australia. It has three other core business units aside from BOXX Modular: Black Diamond Camps & Lodging; Black Diamond Energy Services; and Black Diamond International.
