The pace at which construction costs in in Canada have been rising has slowed, but elevated development and building prices remain among the major challenges impeding the pipeline of new housing projects, stakeholders say.

Create Urban Developer Corp.'s proposed Burnaby Lake Heights would include 12 residential and mixed-use properties and more than 3,500 homes. Sperling Limited Partnership's Burnaby Lake Village would include 14 residential and mixed-use buildings with more than 4,800 new homes.

Hamilton's waterfront dev. expected to generate millions
