Canadian law firm Miller Thomson has relocated its Vancouver branch to an open-concept office space in the redeveloped Pacific Centre. The space features interior office pavilions with modular workstations with options for raised desks, customizable meeting rooms, a café, balcony and a large, landscaped atrium.
Vancouver office earns CBRE its fourth WELL certification
CBRE’s Vancouver office has become the first space of its size to receive gold certification from the International WELL Building Institute in Canada for new and existing interiors. The office occupies 28,000 square feet of Oxford Properties’ 35-storey, LEED certified MNP Tower. It is the first space in Vancouver to be certified by WELL.
PIRET acquires five properties, sells three
Pure Industrial Real Estate Trust has bought five properties and sold three other sites in deals worth more than $160 million. And, PIRET is not done making transactions, says president/CEO Kevan Gorrie. “Today’s announcements reflect significant further progress on our acquisition and capital recycling strategies.”
SmartCentres Place ‘truly exceptional’: SmartREIT CEO
It took less than 10 days to sell all but 10 of the 1,110 residential units at the Transit City Condos development as part of SmartCentres Place in Vaughan, Ont. “The site itself, with access to multi-faceted transit, major highways and a nine-acre park, is truly exceptional and represents the culmination of many years of hard work…” said SmartREIT chief executive officer Huw Thomas.
CBRE moving Kitchener office to Innovation District
CBRE Canada is transforming its offices across the country, so it seems only fitting the firm is moving into a new office in a Kitchener neighbourhood also undergoing a radical transformation. The firm’s Waterloo Region staff will move into an Allied Properties REIT-owned building at 72 Victoria St. S., in the heart of Kitchener’s “Innovation District,” in October.

Montreal-based real estate firm Canderel Group of Companies this month celebrated a British Columbia game changer, landing the mandate to act as property and leasing manager for Vancouver’s huge Bentall Centre. Situated in the downtown core and connected to the Burrard SkyTrain station, the four Class A and AAA office towers are home to top tenants such as Bank of Montreal, Blakes, CIBC and Deloitte.
