Canada’s housing crisis is the result of a chronic shortage of homes in the locations where people want and need to live. This is not a new problem, nor is it a particularly complex one.
CAPREIT and its majority-owned subsidiary European Residential REIT are selling of a portfolio of 1,446 apartments in the Netherlands for $522 million, another $39-million property, and intend to sell ERES’ remaining properties and wind up the trust.
