Montreal-based BTB REIT (BTB-UN-T) continues to expand its portfolio in Alberta with the recent acquisition of three industrial properties in the Edmonton area as it continues to look for more real estate there as well as venturing into Calgary.

Primaris REIT (PMZ-UN-T) has been very actively acquiring enclosed shopping centres over the past couple of years, and is taking steps to intensify some of the sites. Multifamily buildings are likely to start appearing at several of its malls.
