The company which later became Royop Development Corp., built Calgary’s first enclosed shopping centre – Westbrook Mall – in 1964. Today as a retail industry leader in the city, Royop is poised to build another legacy project – Township, a 1.5 million-sq.-ft. mixed-use development on 10 acres in the south part of the city.

El-Ad bids to acquire Agellan Commercial REIT
UPDATED with Agellan Q3 results, quotes: Agellan Commercial REIT has entered into an agreement to be acquired by an affiliate of its largest shareholder El-Ad Group, Ltd., in a transaction valued at about $680 million. Elad Genesis Limited Partnership would pay C$14.25 in cash per share for units the group does not already hold.

Six months ago: Colliers buys 75 per cent of Harrison Street
Colliers International will spend up to $550 US million to acquire 75 per cent of Harrison Street Real Estate Capital LLC. The Chicago-based firm focuses on the education, healthcare and storage sectors and has $14.6 billion in AUM. “The investment in Harrison Street is transformational and the most significant in our history,” said Jay Hennick, Colliers’ chairman / CEO.
One year ago: Northview buys 1,250 apartments in four provinces
Northview Apartment REIT will push its holdings over the 25,000-unit plateau with the purchase of a portfolio of 1,250 units from independent third-party vendors and affiliates of Starlight Group Property Holdings Inc. Northview will pay $196.8 million for the properties, mainly in Ontario but also in Quebec, British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
