The suburban Calgary office environment continues to face stiff vacancy challenges, but entrepreneurs are finding niches to bring new product to market. “There’s been a lot of re-shuffling in the market and that continues to be the trend,” said Chris Rundle of Barclay Street Real Estate. “We do see the northwest and projects like (Royal Vista Professional Centre II) in demand.”
New Kubota HQ, office buildings anchor Pickering development
Kubota Canada Limited, Red Crest Developments and The Behar Group will develop about a million square feet of warehouse, office and hotel space to anchor the new Pickering Innovation Corridor, east of Toronto.. Kubota is the largest commitment, signing an agreement to build 565,000 square feet of industrial and commercial development as part of its first phase.

Montreal, Vancouver enter Reinventing Cities competition
Montreal and Vancouver are among 16 cities participating in Reinventing Cities, a global competition aimed at transforming underused publicly owned sites into sustainable, carbon-neutral renewal projects. Saskatoon retail market remains stable
ICR’s latest retail report has just been released, which reveals that despite a small increase in available space in 2017, we now show three consecutive quarters of stable vacancy in Saskatoon. It’s interesting, however, to note the vacancy numbers vary from 1.5 per cent to 18 per cent within the 12 districts we report on.
