Fiera Properties Ltd. has been quite active since Fiera Capital Corp. acquired the entire firm and Peter Cuthbert was appointed president of the former last November. “We were in a partnership and now we’re not,” Cuthbert said. Fiera Capital spent $32 million to acquire the 45 per cent of Fiera Properties it didn’t already own from minority shareholders.

New shopping district for Quebec City, but industrial sector tight
Cominar REIT plans to develop a new “human scaled” shopping district around Quebec City’s new Ikea Canada store. The project, located in the Duplessis neighbourhood, will include about 30 retailers in 13 or 14 buildings that could total 500,000 square feet on a site of around five million square feet.
Winnipeg’s downtown Richardson Innovation Centre unique
A downtown Winnipeg development by agricultural giant Richardson International Ltd., will transform two unsightly parking lots into what is hoped will serve as a beacon for innovation in the city. Last month, Richardson unveiled plans for its 62,000-square-foot, four-storey Richardson Innovation Centre.
